SIIT Residential Renovation and Construction (RRAC)
Iron Buffalo Centre Hosted a Residential Renovation and Construction Program (RRAC) through Saskatchewan and Indian Institute of Technology (SIIT). The program is designed to provide participants with skilled development in two areas. The first area of focused on basic skills needed for entry-level work in residential or commercial construction. The second area of focused on skills and knowledge needed to work at maintaining and renovating housing.
Heavy Equipment Operator
Iron Buffalo Centre hosts Heavy Equipment Operator Training to assist in Certification and Enhance employ-ability for Mistawasis Nehiyawak and surrounding areas. This program provides training in the operation of heavy equipment, routine maintenance of machinery, and practical field operations of excavating, land clearing, grading, and road building, as well as safe-operating techniques specific to each machine. The HEO program concentrates on hands-on skills development with approximately 80% of the program spent in the field and on the machines, and 20% spent in the classroom.
Adult Basic Education
Iron Buffalo Centre hosts Testing through North West College to upgrade their ABE 10 or 12. Our ABE 10 Class is held in Mistawasis Nehiyawak, SK and our ABE 12 Class it is hosted in Leask, SK. Our classes are open to anyone wanting to upgrade. To determine your level of entry, testing is required.

The Women in Trades (WIT)
Iron Buffalo Centre hosted The Women in Trades (WIT) program. It is specifically designed to assist women who want to develop the basic skills necessary for entry-level work in construction. The main focus of the program is hands-on skills development. Courses include construction academics, site safety, use of hand tools, and construction basics. Participants also have an opportunity to develop an understanding of the work involved in trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, framing, drywall application, and roofing. Ideal candidates like to work with their hands, enjoy working outdoors, and enjoy working as a member of a construction crew.
