The Membership Department was created to administer Indian Registry and maintain the Mistawasis band list and mailing list. It adheres to the policies and procedures we seek to ensure that events such as births, deaths, marriages, divorces, amendments in name changes, category upgrades, etc. are all recorded. The membership department does this by obtaining and examining supporting documentation and requires signatures for each event to determine that they adhere to the department policy and remain in line with government policies as well.

We also issue laminated status cards as per policies and procedures and inform clients of the decisions made by the Registrar concerning applications for Indian status.

We also report to the INAC when any administrative changes occur and at the forefront of any of our operations we ensure that the Confidentiality of the Indian Register is always enacted and in place.
